Bembi’s Kitchen

In good taste

We’ve always loved the modest living in Magalang, Pampanga and its well-known confectionaries and table dessert, Pastillas de Leche, this town offers. But the real draw is a promising restaurant that is making it the town’s food destination, Bembi’s Kitchen, located few minutes away from the town plaza.

“We put up Bembi’s Kitchen because we simply would like to share with other people the family’s favorite dishes; all the food we love and enjoy. Also, hopefully, contribute to the quality of living in Magalang in terms of dining. So, what we see and taste from other places we bring it here,“ owner Dennis Salvador says.

With a belief that eating out should be relaxed and exciting this husband-and-wife team, Dennis and Yhanne Salvador, began their restaurant in 2014 as Bembi’s (name after their second child) pizza take-out/delivery counter located in front of their house. Due to client demand, expanded it to a dine-in pizza parlor. Eventually transformed Bembi’s Kitchen to a home-based Italian-American restaurant.

Translating travels into culinary innovation is Salvador’s inspiration when creating a dynamic shared-plate menu. “Our best seller is really the pizza because we serve it with home-made sauce by adding more spices and secret ingredient. We offer variety of flavors like 4-Cheese, Tex-Mex, Bacon & Arugula, Pizzaroni and more. Sample of food adaptation from abroad is the Sisig Fries, we discovered this in San Francisco they use regular fries, but here we added texture by using shoestring fries to make it crunchy and the diners love it,“ Salvador shares.

Another dish that is exuding a gravitational pull is the Bembi’s Signature Hot Wings and it comes with an exciting challenge. Serving different spice levels of Hot Wings from zero (wholesome) to level 11 (Inferno). A diner who wishes to join the challenge must finish Inferno level 11 hot wings, and the winner will get a free t-shirt and the bill is on the house. This concept was adapted from Buffalo Wing Factory in Virginia.

According to him fresh ingredients are key to delicious dishes. Using variety of colors and textures on each plate to satiate not only palate, but also the eyes. “The traditional American Buffalo wings have only two ingredients – butter and Frank’s red hot sauce, but here we added many components like cider, 8 kinds of chilies and honey. We served it with a twist, different level and volume of spiciness,“ he said.

Bembi’s has a limited menu but the owners made sure that it’s the best of the best dishes that the diners will surely love. Other specials are – Slow Cooked All-American Pork Ribs, Pasta, 100% pure beef Bazinga Burger, imported Australian marbled beef Rib Eye steak, Cheese Platter paired with wine, variety of coffee mix using international best brands, fresh healthy juices and smoothies and imported beers like Stella Artois.

Bembi’s Kitchen, serving great food in an unpretentious setting, curated décor with recycled furniture and DIY fixtures, is all about good taste! A positively must try!
